About A Hero`S Destiny:
The game is currently unplayable due to a crash after several turns, leading to lost games. The dev team went completely silent and have opted to leave this bug in for 3 weeks AND COUNTING. Do NOT buy at this stage as it might end up completely abandoned. The fact it’s still on sale possibly breaks Steam’s ToS. Hero’s Hour is a cute enough HoMM 3 clone with an amazing soundtrack and absolutely no balance (some factions are massively worse than others. The nomad/orc/goblin/whatever faction is unplayable and their town feature which summons a Waaagh army is pointless and too expensive for the 20 dudes you get). The battles are automatic with the only controls given to you being spellcasting and a little bit of micro during them. Thing is, the game will not explain what stats mean, how much (percentage-wise) a spell increases unit health/damage/etc, or what “unit power value” actually means – frustrating by itself because “greatly protects units from damage” tells me absolutely nothing. Greatly, in my human mind, is a number between 55% or 75% protection – but in this game it’s closer to 30%. The AI knows where you are at all times and cheats in autoresolve battles against guards/mobs/neutral armies. There is no behavioural template like in HoMM 3, it’s the same hyena-like AI on every difficulty that “solves” the map before you even get a chance to play then runs into your doomstack and dies, never to recover financially. It’s really pathetic, though, so I guess it does NEED to cheat.
