Overview ALONE:
ALONE is a horror adventure game. You have to help a guy named Yeongchul trapped inside his home, navigate the house to protect himself from suspicious person. Synopsis Yeongchul returns from work as always. He had a girlfriend named Euna. He returned home, blaming himself for not often caring about her girlfriend because of overtime. But when Yeongchul returns home, he faces a terrible event he couldn’t even imagine. I just have so many questions regarding our main character’s living arrangements such as: where does he sleep if he works all the time? The office? Why can’t he run the laundry before sleeping, if it takes just an hour to run? Why does he have a plate of petrified spaghetti on the floor beside a perfectly usable table? Why is his closet so far away from his bedroom? All perfectly good mysteries that no mere man can answer. None of its elements is unique but I still personally didn’t feel like I wasted time playing because of the way the puzzles were structured and how the gameplay works, such as restoring your sanity by staying in a room with flickering light. For the price I paid for it, I had a good time! Little to no challenge. It’s like a guided tour with minimum input from the player to figure out the puzzles. You’d just need to guess well and if you make a mistake, you can reload a save to avoid making that mistake. The game demands little from the player so it doesn’t matter if you’re used to playing RPG or horror games. What matters is you can be patient with the medium and its inadvertent flaws, if that’s the type of thing that could affect your gameplay. Translations could be improved to help the audience feel tension in scenes that matter The culprit of this was to be expected, which disappointed me more than anything It’s not very challenging to achieve an ending since the mechanics aid you rather than hinder your gameplay.
