About Arcade Night:
i can’t recommend this because of capcom’s forced bundle business model, forcing everyone to use censored street fighter 2 roms, mediocre virtual arcade and no online multiplayer. the experience this product offers is mediocre compared to other products on steam and created by the community, the other products require some effort to setup but you can achieve a superior experience to arcade stadium. new retro arcade neon offers better virtual arcade experience, you can get original arcade cabinet artwork, model and vr support. fightcade offers online multiplayer and arguably has the best retro arcade game online multiplayer netcode so it plays smooth even when you play against high 150 ping players. if you like beat em ups and street fighter there are other capcom bundles like street fighter 30th anniversary collection and capcom beat em up bundle that offer a better experience in my opinion because they included original uncensored roms and online multiplayer. what i like -emulation plays ok. only played 1943 and ghost n globlins. -multiple video filter options. there are scanlines, a smooth/blur filter like linear/bilinear filtering, and filters that simulate the curve of a cabinet crt screen. -insert coin feature. important part of the arcade experience in my opinion. -game manuals explaining gameplay and controls. what i dislike -capcom censored the rising sun artwork in the e. honda stage with no option to use uncensored rom versions. this is like forcing everyone to listen to censored versions of songs that replaced profanity with beeps or silence because a small percent of the playerbase might find profanity offensive or censoring symbols in a world war 2 museum. arcade history should be preserved not erased. -can’t buy games separately. if i just want to play the 19xx games, i’m forced to buy $40 worth of bundles with unwanted games and rebuy versions of games that capcom released and i bought less than 3 years ago from the capcom beat em up bundle and without online multiplayer. -no online multiplayer. very disappointing, especially when previous arcade capcom products like beat em bundle and street fighter 30th anniversary collection had online feature. please no more removing important features. -no original arcade cabinet artwork or models. -arcade cabinet attract mode/screens in the background are blocky like if they’re low bitrate, it is like watching a low quality blurry and slightly pixelated youtube video, very short video loops that last only about 10-15 seconds. -arcade roms are encrypted. would prefer to buy uncompressed roms like sega megadrive collection does so you can use the roms with the latest emulators. -greedy microtransactions like $0.99 for 5 wallpapers and $0.99 for invincibility in-game feature. -the main menu dance club music with autotune singing, it would have been better to have instead a recording of ambient arcade sounds as the menu music. that song is so annoying i had to set the menu music volume to 0%.
