About Blood Samurai 2:
There is a cool game in here somewhere but just not yet. The weapons, while satisfying, are just too limited and unvaried. The levels have a cool atmosphere, its borderline a horror game in the Raid game mode, but again theres just not enough variance in them to stand out. The survival mode is quite fun, its a wave based shooter thing, but it loops back to the previous issue with the lack of gun variety AND level variety. Same goes for enemies, its either a shirtless guy or a guy in a bland grey outfit. There’s also a distinct lack of polish. Bodies glitch out when they ragdoll, sometimes enemies will do breakdance moves and just spin into oblivion when they die, and sometimes their walk animation will just straight up break and they’ll start sliding everywhere with zero animation at all. However, this game has a lot of promise and I can see it turning into something really special. The violence and blood are unsettlingly real feeling, and as a result the gunplay is violent, kinetic, and immersive giving it a uniquely brutal and dark atmosphere that I haven’t seen before in a VR shooter. It is really one of a kind, at least from what I’ve played. But with its lack of variety in its levels, guns, and enemies I got bored after a couple hours of playtime. All it needs is more content and more polish for me to give it a thumbs up, especially at its asking price of $25. Either get it on sale or wait for more updates to drop in to really flesh out and polish the game.
