About Blox Hunt:
Disclaimer: I playtested the game but have no financial conflict of interest Push Blox 2 is an excellent puzzle game that builds on the idea of merging blocks of like color together. This mechanic will be familiar if you have played Jelly no Puzzle (another top puzzle game), but it’s used a bit differently here as you control a white circle that moves around the level to push blocks and clear paths. There are some additional mechanics introduced later but it would be more fun to discover them on your own. The most impressive part of the game is the puzzles, which toward the middle and end of the game get very interesting and challenging. As a comparison, the difficulty by the end is similar to or perhaps higher than Stephen’s Sausage Roll, but it starts out much more gentle and inviting. If you have played Push Blox 1, this game is an improvement in all respects, and if you have not played the original I recommend starting with this one. There is a minor real-time element that does not result in any dexterity challenge or timing difficulties. The advantage is that you don’t need to wait for objects to fall completely before you can move again – you can keep going with your solution as things are happening around you. The style is minimalist and clear, and the soundtrack complements the puzzle-solving experience quite well. Push Blox 2 will be one of my favorite puzzle games released in 2020 (and I play a lot of puzzle games).
