About Demonfall:
This is one of the best platformers I’ve played in a long time. It feels like Super Mario 64 meets Banjo Kazooie / Tooie combined with fantastic controls and loads of unique ideas. This feels like a spiritual successor to Super Mario Sunshine. If you’re new to 3D platformers this game can be fun, but you must be patient, try other levels or set other goals if you’re stuck. I find the checkpoint system, which allows you to place checkpoints where you personally need them, really helps make this game never feel frustrating, just challenging. I really hope there’s a sequel in the future. I refunded this game only to buy the XBox version. I just finished the 4th boss, and it’s been so long since I’ve had so much fun on a 3D platformer. I love this game, and I’ll likely buy the Steam version again just to get more levels via the workshop (and to support the fantastic developer more of course). I watched a Nitro Rad video who really loved this game and Blue Fire. I played through Blue Fire and thought it was decent and I finished it. This game he rated higher than Blue but I’m finding it to be more of a miserable experience. I really tried to like this game but to no avail. I will say that the game controls well and I would be invested in the story a lit bit. But there are some things about the level and the environment designs that just doesn’t sit right with me. There are many flaws with this game. The game kept freezing on my when I started playing the game. The graphics also gave me eye strain. I had to turn the graphic settings to the lowest except for texture detail which i kept high. The game ran smooth then and no longer hurt my eyes.
