About Elemental Battlegrounds:
It’s 2018, you just finished school and coming back home to play some video games with your friends. You log into Steam, you start PUBG and you queue Squad game. You all jump to Pochinki and are happy you made it alive. Next game you go safe route through Milta, loot some stuff and play carefully. You cooperate, you have fun, you watch the first tournament and see some pro team playing the strat you used once and you feel good and passionate. You LOVED PUBG for the cooperation you had with your friends, the tactics you developed, the crates you sold for 2$ at Steam marketplace, you knew every corner of the first map. Well, then they released second map, the desert bulIsht as we liked to call it and then more and more maps you don’t want to play. Then the battle pass, making new items untradable and all downhill. Now you just come to this game to try to get a bit of a flashback to the times when nothing mattered and you were having fun, yet finding only disappointed. End of the sad story of OUR PUBG. It’s unfortunate. This game started off great! It was super promising when it first launched, and it just got better and better until one fateful day. The day the voicechat died. That marks pretty accurately the time when this game’s development went downhill. The day you could no longer speak in public lobbies because of whatever complaints the devs received took a key element out of the game, an element of charm. I come back every now and then. Test the waters. Try to relive some of those moments, but you can’t replicate something like that. You just live it, once, until it’s gone. RIP OG PUBG. You will forever remain in my heart and memory.

About Elemental Battlegrounds:
Unfortunately, there is no longer a map editor, but that is because the old grid style maps have been replaced with beautiful hand drawn maps and paths. In fact, graphics as a whole have been fully upgraded and it looks spectacular. The towers have new unique designs, and the effects have been improved as well. Like the predecessor, there are items that drop from the elementals. Items can grant passive global abilities, can be inserted into tower to improve or modify that tower, or have a special use that operates on a cooldown system. In addition to the basic items, you can unlock more powerful items by completing quests on each map. The game has online leaderboards (across all platforms and consoles) as well as an online co-op mode. You can use your preference of a mouse/keyboard or a gamepad/controller. Elemental War 2 has a native linux build and it works great with Linux Mint 20.3 with AMD graphics using Vulkan drivers. That native linux build allows Elemental War 2 to work fine on the SteamDeck as well. The developer is quite responsive and does a good job fixing any issues as well as being open for suggestions to improve the game. He is easy to contact either through the steam forums or discord. Fun to play coop with a friend, but could use better explanations about the mechanics. The game starts pretty slow but can get difficult later on. Would also be nice to see how much gold your coop partner has and a message when they leave the game.
