Be vigilant, be sharp, be ready. Be good. Be Haydee. Haydee it is a game that knows what it wants to be an absolutely nails it. While you may initially discard this game after a glance at its protagonist I assure you Haydee is indeed the hardcore metroidvania style game it promises to be. Its unforgiving and as much as I want to I can’t find another game quite like it. Haydee is not robust, which has its own merits. No part feels lazily tacked on or half finished. Everything is concise with the experience, and what it lacks in features is heavily made up by the level design.
Haydee Direct Play:
You play as an android that has just woken up. With no other options, you’re forced to explore a labyrinth of sterile white hallways until you inevitably arrive at one of the three endings. But it’s no easy journey. The game does not hold your hand in the slightest You’re gonna be backtracking and walking through the same corridors multiple times, so when a new item is found, you immediately start thinking about where it can be applied. Dangers are so cunningly placed you’re alert through most of the game and yet it still gets you when you least expect it. Resources are scarce enough to make it feel like each bullet counts.
