About Just Grass:
I like this Go client a lot, and it’s an absolute steal at $9.99. I mean, it’s worth it just for the Tsumego (Go puzzles that strengthen players’ core concepts of how to play)! It includes 255 basic capture puzzles (teaches ladders, nets, throw-ins, snapbacks, etc), 145 life and death, 60 connect and cut, 314 capturing race, 357 make life, 490 break an eye, 131 throw-in, 72 Go theory, 114 under the stones, 88 symmetrical position, 241 vital point, and 498 excellent move for a grand total 2765 Tsumego of as of version 1.01. And they are useful for a wide variety of skill levels, including hundreds and hundreds for new players and beginners. Also useful for players of all levels are the AI settings. There’s everything from “obvious bad moves” beginner to “I’ll never beat this AI in a million years.” And you can always play against online opponents! Just Go uses the OGS servers for online games and you can also invite friends directly via Steam. Beyond that there’s a nifty career mode that lets you play in a variety of tournaments, and even takes into consideration whether the tournament uses Japanese, Chinese or Korean rules. It will adjust your rank automatically as you play to give you an idea of your strength. Completing achievements unlocks points that can be spent in career mode towards a variety of perks such as getting a few AI recommended moves per game, territory estimates, undos, etc, but you can of course play without using these features if you’d prefer traditional matches.
