About Lumber Tycoon 2:
Lumber Tycoon 2 is a horror game. The game takes place at an (almost) abandoned island, named Lumber Island. The island was full of rare wood, which was really popular for lumberjackers. The citizens of the island needed to leave their home land, because there were deposits of oil under the ground founded. When there was no more oil left, the island was left abandoned. In the beginning you are drowned in the ocean and looking at a wooden boat. A few seconds later after the cutscene you are on an island in the middle of nowhere. Your only objective is: that you need to explore, survive and find tools to open doors or chests. The game got me good, because I was already jump-scared at the first two minutes of the game. The game is really exciting to play out until the last minute there is. The game is played in first person as you explore a derelict island which was once a lush forest,, hence the name Lumber Island. The game gives no real indication on how to progress out when you begin. You are essentially left to your own devices and have to work out everything yourself. You find clues scattered around the island that point you in the right direction of where to go next or how to progress, but no real in your face objectives. Your character is only armed with a lighter or a flash light in the later levels. Thankfully this isn’t one of those games where you have to manage your batteries or fuel reserves, allowing you to light your way to your hearts content. Each of the four or so levels have one enemy in – these enemies will kill you as soon as they come into contact with you. You can only run from them in order to escape your demise; you have no form of fighting back. Most of the game focuses on finding keys and opening doors to the next level; this is cleverly masked by other tasks to make it not seem so dull though.
