About My Hero Mania:
This game is like being high, except cheaper, and doesn’t have long term effects on my health. Or maybe it does and I just don’t know it yet. Don’t get me wrong, what I’ve played thus far is insanely fun, but a solid 80% of the time I feel less like I’m playing the game and more like the game is grabbing me by the arm and dragging me along for the neon psychedelic ride. Maybe this is all part of Robotnik’s evil plan to defeat Sonic. Just make the person controlling him bleed rainbows out of their eye sockets until Sonic game-overs. Also, I gotta be honest, I’ve always been better at 3D Sonic games over 2D ones. I’ve just never had that special skill to understand what life is in a 2D Sonic game. But hey, at least game overs aren’t that punishing here, so that’s a bonus. I also don’t have to do it in one sitting, because I genuinely don’t think I could. I remember when I got this game for my switch, it was one of the best things I have ever witnessed, and I also remember the day I got it’s expansion where it adds 2 more characters and a new mode and other cool stuff. And here I am today, owning both of those things again on another platform, and I gotta say, I recommend this game. Even if you never played a Sonic game before. Worth the $20 for the base game and the $5 for the dlc

About My Hero Mania:
Early impression of this, after over an hour of using him, he’s a bit of a mixed bag. He doesn’t provide much stage-control or much of moves and pretty much leads to a lack of oppression. Along with having a lack of damage, he seems like lack-luster as a character. However i will argue that where he shines is his use of his aerial bounce pads, which don’t do much damage but you can make multiples of this on the field and they have a good chance of finishing someone upon wake-up. I believe these bounce away certain projectiles. Like Denki’s when i fought against Gentle, Denki actually hit me even though he was my assist so that’s pretty interesting. The other thing is that it’s pretty hard to combo with this, along with his air sandwich attack. Nice detail is that the air attacks are color-coded if there is a Gentle ditto battle. To further my complaints, La Brava feels like an afterthought in his repertoire. I like the fact that she’s on the field, though the only thing she does, other than trying to film his fights, is giving him a power up with his Lvl 1 Super. I dont feel like the power up lasts long, probably for 3 combos, and you do barely double your default damage. The Super itself gives you good opportunity to combo someone off of it. The power up sadly doesnt carry over into his Lvl 2, even worse is that it turns the power up off. You also cant customize La Brava’s outfit. If we were able to give her up to four outfits, i wouldn’t complain about this, but we get 0 for her here. Lastly he overall feels around mid tier, since he’d take extensive practice to be good with him, but even then Shoot Style Deku gave me tons of problems and i was barely able to beat him on mid difficulty all due to his speed, so i can only imagine how it is against Iida. His best attacks would be his ground-trampoline move and the air pads. These things get an opponent’s attention, so that much is good. i’ll still have him as a main, but this is easily a hit-or-miss character. It can still depend on the long run, so this much i encourage people to at least try him. If you like what he does, cool; If you dont, also cool. He’s at least overall good.

About My Hero Mania:
As I just got all the achievements, I decided to summarize my impressions. Loop Hero is an amazing game and I had a very enjoyable experience with it. Although, not everyone would appreciate it. While reading negative reviews, I clearly understood why some people were frustrated with this game, but those points that dissatisfied them are actually what made this game amazing for me. First of all, Loop Hero is indeed an idle game. Well, it kind of is. There is one big difference between «classical» idle games and Loop Hero. And the difference is that you are painting the world you are going to idle. The process of filling up the map is mesmerizing, and there are a lot of different ways you can complete another run. Some are mentioned grinding. I didn’t really notice that. Every run I tried to experiment with decks and different terrain placement and not once did I have a feeling that I force myself to replay something in order to gather resources. Another thing I’d like to address is the sound in this game. The music is great, the effects are really plausible, and I like how every character has its own well-selected sound of voice substitute. But right on the main screen, there are sound options where you can turn it all off. Why would you do that? Because this game is just perfect for those who like to listen to podcasts while playing. Although there are a lot of possibilities, they are not endless. I spent 60+ pleasant hours in Loop Hero and there is not much left for me to do, except, maybe, summoning hidden bosses. The game is very much completable, it has a moderate level challenge, and completionists could have the great feeling of 100%ing while spending a reasonable amount of effort. I personally would definitely recommend the game, even for the full price. A huge thanks to the developers and I hope to hear about Loop Hero 2 soon.
