About Portal Rush:
puzzle games are usually something I despise the most in gaming genres. Not because I hate puzzle games itself but due to the constant concentration needed. Most puzzle games tend to have the pacing so off making the player very quickly exhausted. Portal is something even I as a kid could easily finish. What I really like is the pacing in this game. Unlike a lot of puzzle games that revolve around a gimmick, in this case portals, they introduce the feature then give you really heavy puzzles. Here you get slowly get introduced to new features. Once you get a type of puzzle afterwards you have to solve a somewhat more difficult version. The next level will feature something familliar including an easier new feature and so on. Somtimes old obstacles dont even come up anymore for a while. Even in the late game you never really stay on a single feature for a long time until something new is introduced. Additionally, levels are rather short, you can save anytime and the whole game time is also on the shorter side, you can finish his game easily in an afternoon. Often these type of puzzle games feature no story at all or have one that is so obscure and cryptic that leaves you with more questions at the end.I found the general main story line rather enjoyable and adding more involvement into the puzzles. Its also quite funny and not cringe which is rather rare featuring jokes from an AI. The visuals are up to this day rather enjoyable and very nice. Test chambers are very clean, unless you look behind things or object you aren’t supposed to see which are dirty, rusted or full of object that have been scattered around giving a type of visual storytelling a lot of people can easily understand Portal is one of these games that you can boot up anytime in a few years and you can easily finish it in one go. The gameplay is fun and not too hard, it’s a short game with great pacing which makes it , for a puzzle game, not exhausting to play. Absolutely recommend this game even if you don’t like puzzle games.
