About Reaper:
Reaper 💀 is a very polished puzzle action platformer. The 2.5D art style is cute and quirky yet beautiful. The soundtrack is vibrant and ties in well with each location. The plot is simple and the cutscenes could use a few more frames, but the game more then makes up for this with its handcrafted areas. While there are 4 main worlds, many of them are composed of several sub-biomes. For example, the Asphodel Meadows take place across a garden, giant treetops, crypt, and graveyard. Each of these has its own enemies and obstacles and atmosphere. Bosses guard each exit, requiring you to prove your mastery of each new ability. The game is quite forgiving, with multiple checkpoints and several hitpoints but is still tricky to master. The puzzles in the first two areas are mostly straightforward but get more challenging as you progress. I only found one bug, which they fixed within a day of my mention The controls are fluid and precise and as you progress you unlock more movement abilities (such as dashing, scythe teleportation, etc.). Little Reaper is definitely a game worth playing through to the end! The menu is the plainest, most basic font you could use, and You travel through a level, and what they don’t tell you is, you need ot kill blue and red enemies to collect blue and red souls for blue and red items with a skull icon on them ( to activate them ) and the green souls are just ” for funsies ” In real levels, yoiu are greeted by a door requiring a certain nu,ber of these red and blues to progress. The jumping feels awful, the attacking barely feels leik you’re making an impact, or doing any damage. first ” boss ” did nothign at all to even try to hurt me, phase one just shoots arrows, till it slams it’s head in the ground for some reaosn, then phase two, it sends things form a chandalier down at you, and 1 blue enemy you have to kill, and then give a soul to the thing that fell from chandalier – repeat 4 times. it doesn’t mix up, when you place soul, the boss attacks the ground, you slap it once, and that’s your entire boss battle. I didn’t even move form the spot i was in for the entire second phase.
