About Vyyrahk City:
I’m an avid timeloop story fan anyway, but this is beautifully crafted. The story is good, the twists are great, the mechanics are interesting, the openness of it feels good and unconstrictive, the scenery is beautiful, the writing is funny, it’s just ticking a lot of boxes honestly. Plays a lot like Elsinore meets Eastshade, with a spritz of Outer Wilds, you’re stuck looping in time in a lost Roman-esque city and information is your greatest weapon. There’s well over 20 good characters to get to know and learn the secrets of, and some really fun dives into the history and architecture of it all while trying to unravel the mystery of why you’re here, what’s keeping you all here, and how you can. It’s just clever, that’s the first thing that comes to mind when trying to describe it, the dialogue is simple but witty, the twists and turns got some great gasps out of me which I didn’t expect, and sometimes the options that open up just made me grin like a giddy child with a new toy. It’s very polished. I spotted one or two continuity errors – knowledge I shouldn’t have had just yet – but nothing that really took away from anything.First thing first: yes this is based of the author’s Skyrim mod Forgotten City which I previously played twice. The mod is amazing! That being said this game is not just a reskin, it’s an entirely new game in a new very different setting, much expanded story, greatly improved characters, new endings, new plot elements, improved dialogue, better movement and unique combat, and of course greater length.
